Alabama Board of Court Reporting A Reminder to Freelance and Official Reporters: Transcript Format Guidelines are found in Rule 29, Alabama Rules of Judicial Administration at http://www.judicial.state.al.us/rules/rules29amendmentApp.pdf Format guidelines: 25 double-spaced lines per letter-size page and marginal lines and establishes marginal requirements with the text beginning 1 and 3/4 inches from the left edge of the page and not to font size, capitalization, indentions, and the manner in which questions and answers, colloquies, quotations, parenthetical notations, headings, interruptions of speech, and simultaneous discussions are to be typed. An express provision is also included authorizing contempt sanctions for a reporter's willful noncompliance with the rule's provisions.
